🎮 “The Weirdest (and Coolest) Video Game Merch I’ve Ever Collected”

Hey there, fellow nerdlings! It’s Suha, your resident geek girl collector, and today I’m diving into something a little chaotic, a little cringe, and a whole lot of awesome—the strangest and most unexpected video game merch I’ve ever added to my collection.
Because let’s be real—everyone’s got a Mario plush or a Zelda Master Sword replica. But have you ever seen a Legend of Zelda-themed scented candle that smells like… "forest temple musk"? Yeah, I went there.
🧸 1. The Donkey Kong Tissue Box Cover That Throws Bananas
This was a wild eBay find. It’s a handmade, felt-crafted tissue box cover with Donkey Kong’s face stitched on the front—and if you pull a tissue too fast, it flings a little felt banana out the side.
💬 Why I bought it: Because nothing says “I’m emotionally wiping away tears from boss fights” like being attacked by a banana.
🛒 Similar ones I’ve spotted: Donkey Kong collectibles on eBay
🔮 2. Final Fantasy Potion (Yes, The Drink)
Square Enix once released a limited-edition drink in Japan labeled “Final Fantasy Potion.” It came in a tiny glass bottle with a collectible label. I finally found one on eBay still sealed. Haven’t dared drink it (yet).
💬 What it tastes like: No clue. I imagine it’s either mana in a bottle or a very expensive way to get food poisoning.
🧦 3. Sonic the Hedgehog Soap Dispenser That Screams
This thing… it’s cursed. Every time you pump it, Sonic yells “Let’s GO!” I thought it was broken. Then it startled me during a midnight bathroom trip. Worth every penny.
📈 Fun fact: Sonic merch prices are racing upward lately. Some 90s-era figures now sell for $200+ if still boxed.
🔥 4. A Skyrim Dragonborn Helmet… That’s Actually a Toaster Cover
Okay, so someone crocheted a Dragonborn helmet to cover their toaster. And now I have it. I don't know how this happened. I just blacked out and hit “Buy Now.”
💬 Why it rocks: No one expects a toaster helmet. It’s the sneak attack of kitchen décor.
🎤 5. My Personal Favorite: A Rhythm Heaven Signed Tambourine
I got this one at a garage sale of all places—a Rhythm Heaven-themed tambourine, signed by a Nintendo localization artist. It's probably my most random flex.
💬 Estimated value? Honestly, hard to price. But I’ve seen Rhythm Heaven promo items go for $100+ easy.
🤓 Suha's Collecting Tips: The Weirder, The Better
When it comes to collecting, here’s the tea:
Weird items get attention. They’re conversation starters and go viral way faster on socials.
Track Japanese-only releases. So much rare merch never makes it to the U.S. and shows up years later on eBay.
Don’t overlook handmade stuff. Etsy and even old Tumblr shops have spawned items that are now worth 5x more.
🛍️ What to Look for Right Now on eBay
Want in on some current quirky collectibles? Here are a few things I’ve seen trending lately (with affiliate links to help support my collection habit 😅):
Zelda Ocarina replicas under $25
Sonic Happy Meal toys (90s set)
Pokémon Center Japan plush exclusives
💬 What’s the weirdest piece of video game merch YOU own?
Let’s swap stories. Tag me on TikTok or drop a comment if you’ve got something totally bonkers in your stash. And hey—if you ever find a Mario-themed stapler that sings the theme song, hit a girl up.
Until next time,
Stay weird. Stay collectible.
